Good morning North Jefferson families. The work on our main foyer project will begin this afternoon, 2/24/2026 and continue until our flooring tile installed.

If you are dropping off your child(ren) after 8:50 or picking them up early you will need to buzz in at the main entrance to announce you are here, then go to Door 3 (Parent Drop Off/Pick Up area) to sign out and pick up your child.

Respectfully,

North Jefferson families-

Did you know that students and families have 3 days after the student returns to school to submit an absence note to the school to have an absence excused? Please do not wait to submit your absence note, but if you do forget, you have three days to get it in! If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's ability to come to school consistently, please feel free to reach out to Addison Tucker at addison.tucker@k12.wv.us for resources, brainstorming, and more!

Good Morning NJES Families,

March 11th will be our Annual Title I Meeting, from 5:00-7:00pm. All families are encouraged to attend. We will have Math games for students in the gym, so that parents may view resources available to them as a Title I school. We will have information regarding iReady, IEPS, Zero to Three, preK to Kindergarten Transition, and more! Permission forms will be going home with your student today, and you should expect a call from a staff member regarding this event!

Thank you,

Joyce Ashworth

Good Morning NJES Families,
I would like to correct a mistake on the calendar. Next week is the week of the Friendship Festival and Dance! The school store will be open in the mornings, and during lunch, with items for sale from $0.50 to $5.00. Funds raised from the friendship festival will support the future NJES Outdoor Pavilion! ⭐ Star Students Strive for Five! ⭐

Dear North Jefferson Families,
We are excited to launch a schoolwide attendance challenge called:

⭐ Star Students Strive for Five! ⭐

Our goal is to have 95% of students at school on five different days between now and the end of April. When almost everyone is here, learning is stronger, routines are smoother, and our school community shines.

To build early momentum, we will have special “rally days.”

On these days, we encourage every family to make attendance a priority so we can reach our 95% goal together.

📅 Our first rally day is February 12 (the day of the Friendship Dance!).

We are aiming to have as many students as possible at school that day so we can earn our first star toward our schoolwide celebration.

Every day counts, and your partnership truly makes a difference. Thank you for helping our Stars show up strong!

⭐ Star Students…

STRIVE FOR FIVE! ⭐

-If you have any questions related to attendance or community resources, please reach out to addison.tucker@k12.wv.us

100 Days of School!

Neither rain, nor sleet nor snow will keep us from celebrating the 100th day of school! Congratulations on making it this far, STARS!

Wednesday, February 4th we are celebrating the 100th day of school. We encourage students to come to school dressed as if they are 100 years old! Join us in a day of fun and silliness while we pass this milestone.

Good morning, North Jefferson Elementary families. We are excited to welcome our students back into the building today.

Our parent drop off /pick up loop is down to one lane at this time. Please be patient as you wait to drop off and pick up your children. We will continue to clear the ice/snow over the next few days.

Thank you!

NJES families,

As most of us know, along with cold weather comes unexpected illness, and sometimes it can be hard to know when you should and should not send your child to school. here is an easy checklist you can use to help you responsibly make that call!

Sick Day information
Greetings, North Jefferson Elementary families. Friday, January 30, 2026 will be our first remote learning day of this school year.

We prepared for this first remote day by sending home packets for our students in Grades K-2 and Chromebooks with our students in grades 3 -5.

Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher via Rooms or k12 email if your child was absent on 1/23/26 or if you need guidance for the work that is to be completed on this remote learning day.

We look forward to seeing our student back in North Jefferson Elementary school next week!

Hello NJES families! Most of you know already that a winter storm is heading for our area in the next few days. If your child does not have access to winter boots, coats, gloves or hats, please reach out to Addison Tucker (addison.tucker@k12.wv.us) or Matthew Hickey (matthew.hickey@k12.wv.us) as soon as possible so we can try and help!

Hello NJES Families,

Today, your child is bringing home a Book Buddy Lanyard letting you know about a safe and easy way for our school to raise funds for essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed.

The SchoolStore Program is 100% online, so there is NO face-to-face selling, handling money, or delivering products. Your participation will take less than 12 minutes, and there are exciting prizes to make it fun for the students.

Here is all you need to do to participate:

1. Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000010071 to sign up.

2. Send emails inviting family, friends and co-workers to support your child.

3. Return the Book Buddy Lanyard with the Student Prize Code to school for your child to get their fun participation prize.

Be sure to ask your child for the Book Buddy Lanyard tonight. Your participation will make a difference for our school and teachers!

Thank you for supporting NJES!
